Exfoliating Your Face With Dry Brushing

Exfoliating your face keeps it fresh, soft, and youthful. Here is an easy exfoliating technique that uses a dry brush.

How to Dry Brush Your Face

To dry brush your face:

1. Start by washing your face with soap or a face wash. This ensures you have a clean face to work with and that your pores are clean and free from makeup clog.

2. Begin brushing your chin in very gentle, upward motions and gently work your way up towards your nose and cheeks. Move the brush from the chin towards your hairline face in the right side and then on the left side. Do this 2 to 5 times on each side. Keep the strokes gentle and light so you do not irritate the skin.

3. Gently brush both sides of your nose, each for about 2 to 5 times.

4. Move the brush in circular motions on your forehead, 2 to 5 in circular motion, and then for about the same number of times in a counter clockwise motion.

5. Make sure to brush your neck 5 to 7 times as well if you did not brush it while brushing your body.

6. Once you have brushed your entire body, finish off the procedure by applying a serum or nutrient-rich oil on your body. This moisturizes your skin and keeps it soft. If you have some time to spare, apply any nice facial mask after brushing the skin. Apricot masks work well to keep the face soft and smooth. When you peel off the mask, wash your face, and moisturize it with any light oil or lotion.

Practice this procedure at least 5 times a week to keep your face supple and radiating. Once done brushing your face and body, always wash and clean the brush. Scrub it with any nontoxic soap and water daily or even once a week. Make sure to let it dry before using it again so bacteria or mildew does not collect on it.

You can mist the brush lightly with a gentle tea-tree solution to clean it. To make the solution, mix 1 part of tea tree oil in 2 parts of water and shake it well. Put it in a spray bottle and spray the solution on your brush to keep it clean.
